Sometimes it may look as if a person is waving, but they are actually drowning.

Sometimes it may look as if a person is drowning, but they are just waving.

Sometimes people make out they are drowning, but they are actually ok.

Sometimes people make out they are just waving, but they are really drowning.

The response of any observer to all this waving will depend very much on their own attitude and mindset. The intentions of the waver may never be fully known, perhaps even to the waver, but the observer will interpret the situation, create a story.

As Marcel Duchamp so famously noted, ‘the viewer completes the work’, gives meaning to any situation, artwork, experience.

For meaning, just as life, is fluid.
